Romney 4ply, Blacker Yarns
A fine, springy 4ply with a soft, fuzzy halo, spun from one of Britain's hardiest breeds.
Romney sheep have grazed the Kent marshes for centuries, and their long, strong wool is known for being hard-wearing. Blacker Yarns spins it worsted, so the fibres lie smooth and parallel, giving a fine handle and clear stitch definition. The fine fibres lift slightly on the surface to give a cosy, lived-in look. It suits cables, textured stitches, lace and fitted garments that need to keep their shape.
Colour: Grey
A mid-to-dark grey, heathered with lighter silver fibres and a few warmer brown flecks, like slate or wet stone. It has the most visible halo of the set, and the mix of tones gives it a natural, woolly look.
