To make this woollen spun yarn we blended smooth drapey Blue-Faced Leicester, with the bouncy froth of Shetland and the guilt-free luxurious recycled silk. This combination of pale and dark fibres creates a yarn with glorious depth of colour and delicate nepps of silk. Because it is woollen spun, Samite retains the characteristic bounce of Shetland, and is more durable than the standard silk blend, marking it ideal for colourwork, cables and texture.

The full colour palette was inspired by characters from the Arthurian Legend.

This is a rich, deep shade with a strong vintage character, leaning towards a muted mulberry, oxblood, or blackberry hue. It has a warm, earthy undertone rather than a bright or blue-based magenta, giving it that classic, rustic autumn-and-winter feel that works wonderfully with natural wools.
